With its squared-off design, the Tahoe keeps things simple. In front, the split headlights frame an expansive, chromed-out grille. Safety Features and Available Options
With considerable size on its side, the 2019 Tahoe is relatively safe. All models have seven airbags, including a center airbag that keeps the driver and front-seat passenger from hitting each other in a crash. Stability control and ABS are standard, while active safety features are optional on the LS and standard on the Premier and LT. This collision mitigation package includes active lane control, auto emergency braking, power adjustable pedals, and auto high beams. Engine Choices
If you're searching for V8 power, the 2019 Tahoe delivers it. Most of this year's models will leave the factory with 5.3L V8s that put out 355hp and 383 lb. ft. of torque. With a rich, throaty sound, ample power, and a reliable six-speed auto transmission, this engine is ideal for everyday use. In low-load scenarios, the engine can run on only four cylinders, putting its fuel economy into the reasonable range. The Tahoe shares the Chevy Silverado's underpinnings, but it comes with rear coil springs for a smoother ride. In off-road situations, the Tahoe's length and width make it a bit difficult to maneuver on tight trails.
